Diablo III on consoles will be slimmed down when compared to its PC bretheren. Â We’ve already seen some images and video that show a refined user interface, and control scheme considerations that make it work with a traditional console controller. Â However, PAX East has shed new light on the upcoming title.
Diablo III will not feature the Real Money Auction house or require players to be connected to the internet to play. Â A Blizzard representative told Destructoid over the weekend that the PC and console versions of Diablo III are completely separate entities, there won’t be any connection to a Battle.net account, nor will there be cross platform play.
It’ll be interesting to see if Diablo III on consoles runs into the same speed bumps that it did on PC. Â There was a ton of fan backlash over the Real Money Auction House, if just for some of the repercussions that it had on the community.
Also at PAX over the weekend, Blizzard confirmed that Diablo III on consoles would not necessarily be a PlayStation 3/4 exclusive, but didn’t give any details on what other platforms the game might arrive on. Â The trailer below shows off some of the first gameplay for the dungeon crawler on PlayStation 3.
