Have you heard of Blackwater? Well, it's the Kinect's first attempt at bringing the first person shooter genre to the device. Judging from the advertisement, the Kinect's tracking capabilities have increased tremendously over the past year.

As can only be assumed from the advertisment below, the Kinect will now have you using your furniture for cover, squeezing air triggers to shoot, and just generally making an ass out of yourself to accomplish your "mission objectives".

If it did indeed play out like this, and you do half the things that are shown in this trailer, then this game stands to be one of the coolest in memory. The cynic in me tends to think that's going to feel more like Time Crysis than anything.

We'll see. Blackwater is schedule to release on October 25th. Have a look at all the pew pewing below.

  I played this game three times. Once only because I had company and wanted to show them another Kinect game. It’s hard to do most of the moves; or I should say that you feel like you’re doing the right move, but the game doesn’t recognize it. Often you can do the exact same movement and get different results. You can kick exactly the same way and get a low front kick or a kick to the head.
  One of the weirdest things is the fact that the background story can only be found in the game manual. Seems very much like they rushed to get the game out on Kinect day 1. They got my money, unfortunately.

  They could of done it so much better, half the time the game does not know if ur kicking or punching, the system recognizes you much faster yet the game has a delay between when you move and when the game reacts, the fighters are horrid and the moves are terrible.

  LOL fighters has a metacritic of 32!
  And there are basically no good games for kinect. NO CORE GAMES that’s for sure.
  The only good game is “dance central” which neither requires accuracy or a speedy response.
  Maybe it would be better for me to say

  Well most of that is experience. Most Xbots think that Xbox live is better simply because it’s pay to play.
  I game wirelessly, router is 25 feet away. I never lagged even when I only had 1.5mbps service, even on Wifi. Well I suppose sometimes I would have something weird that happend when playing battlefield sometimes, but most the time I’d say 90% I was fine. Even at only 1.5mbps.
  Now I have 12mbps, I get about 7-8mpbs on wifi and absolutely no lag.
  I’ve been online gaming for 15+ years, most of it on PC, and only 4 years on PS3 and Wii.
  Wii does suck online, I always get kicked off or it freezes. And there is no option for ethernet hook up.
  PSN is every bit as good as PC and Xbox live online gaming. I’ve played Xbox live, mostly Halo and Gears and both times I’ve seen the same amount of lag as PC or PSN. Just very little lag if any. Except Gears 2 which did lag like a mother fucker.
  XBox live has cross game chat/party chat. That’s the only difference.
  PS+ is awesome because we get lots of free and discounted games or map packs. But it’s an option.

Only game on kinect that looks remotely good is Rise of nightmares. House of the dead but with melee.
You cant slate the Wii or the PS Move. both are proven and you can actually play FPS games and games that are triple AAA and exclusives

Again, my biggest complaint about PS3 is that they took out backwards compatability. SONY invented backwards compatability, now they are the only ones doing it.
Considering the PS3 gives everything under the sun, blu ray, browser, blue tooth, free online play, free streaming service, built in batteries in controller with gyroscope and blue tooth, has actual exclusives which appeal to me the most all for a better price than Xbox yes it’s okay.
PS2 is still being sold to this day and is still supported. Orig. xbox is not, even those who were paying got dropped as Xbox hasn’t supported orig. xbox servers in years. But that was a fail of a console anyways so…
how about you tell me how the PS3 can come down $350 in just 5 years when xbox can only come down $100 in 6.
And then please tell me why you think the old technology in the xbox is worth paying $300 + $60/year for onilne gaming. When it has no features and risks overheating or scratching disks.
