Dota 2 may be coming to tablet devices if Valve has their way. The MOBA title which has been in a lengthy beta period is currently available on Steam, but Valve is hoping that advancements in technology will make Dota 2 on tablets a reality.

Speaking with Kotaku, Valve’s Gabe Newell says that the free to play arena title is one of the more interesting projects that the company is working on. However, Newell explains that there is still alot of work to do before Dota 2 on tablets is a reality.

“We’re working on getting Dota 2 running on some tablets,” says Newell. “That ended up being kind of a disappointment. But the good news is that tablets are getting faster very quickly, so I think we’ll get the kind of performance we want and other game developers want in the near future.”

Whatever the future is for Valve games, they certainly appear to be branching out. Newell also recently made comments about a Steam Box that Valve may be introducing to compete with next-generation consoles.
