‘Do not buy these’: Former Krispy Kreme worker spots something alarming on a Walmart donut box, and the date will shock you

Fresh daily? More like stale yearly!

A man who used to work at Krispy Kreme says he found something weird on a box of donuts at Walmart. He thinks the donuts might not be as fresh as the company says they are. His video about it has people talking online.

Ian Lawrence goes by @i_am_naiwal on TikTok. He posted a video, while he was shopping at Walmart. He saw boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts with a sign that said “delivered fresh daily from your local shop.” But when he looked closer at one box, something did not add up.

According to Daily Dot, Lawrence picked up a box and showed the date printed on it. He told people watching, “I’m recording this October 30th, 2025. Do not buy these damn Krispy Kreme donuts.” The date on the box said January 1, 2025. That would mean the donuts were almost a year old.

This got people talking real fast

Lawrence used to work at the Krispy Kreme in Lubbock, Texas. He later revealed that Krispy Kreme donuts usually only stay good for about one day. He said workers were told to throw out all the donuts at the end of each day.

People had a lot to say after watching the video. Someone named Darglee commented, “There’s no way yall genuinely thought those were fresh quality donuts.” Another person called NJax63 seemed upset and wrote, “No… don’t do this to me… I can’t lose Krispy Kreme…”

Not everyone seemed worried though. A user named stefan kapelakis replied to someone by saying, “sounds like you loved it.” Another commenter named metal_elf_matt joked around and said, “Krispy Kreme is the Dollar General of donut places.”

Lawrence also talked about what it was like when he worked there. He said the store where he worked had problems with cleanliness. He warned people not to buy the drinks there because they were not clean.

He also said he saw things like mold inside the soda machines and even roaches. He found these donuts at the Walmart on 4th and Frankford in Lubbock. Since he worked at the only Krispy Kreme in that city, he felt sure about what he was saying. Just like other former food workers who have shared stories about their jobs, Lawrence wanted customers to know the truth.

Krispy Kreme website says they bring fresh donuts to grocery stores every day. Right now you can buy Krispy Kreme donuts at Walmart, Kroger, Publix, and other stores around the country. Krispy Kreme did not answer questions about the video right away. Some people who work at grocery stores said they do see delivery trucks bring donuts early in the morning, usually around 7 a.m. or even during the night.

Nobody knows for sure if the date was wrong or if something else happened. If you want to make sure you get fresh donuts, Krispy Kreme says you should go to their actual stores during Hot Light hours. Those times are usually from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and then again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This is not the only time workers in food businesses have talked about problems at their companies using social media.
