Kanye West buys full-page ad to apologize for antisemitic remarks, claiming they were caused by a specific event 25 years ago

He finally had a wake up call.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has publicly apologized for his antisemitic comments. He bought a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal to share his apology. In the letter, he said his behavior was caused by brain trauma from a car accident 25 years ago.

According to Screen Rant, Ye explained that he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016. He believes the disorder came from undiagnosed brain damage he suffered in the crash. For years, he denied having mental health issues, but now he’s acknowledging the problem.

The artist said his worst actions happened when he was having manic episodes. He explained that during these times, he couldn’t think clearly. He made decisions he now regrets deeply. Ye described what mania feels like in his letter.

The connection between mania and Ye’s controversial behavior

He said, “When you’re manic, you don’t think you’re sick. You think everyone else is overreacting. You feel like you’re seeing the world more clearly than ever, when in reality you’re losing your grip entirely.” This mental state led him to say and do things he shouldn’t have.

One of the most shocking incidents was when Ye used Nazi symbols and language. He put swastikas on his clothing brand’s t-shirts. He also said “Heil Hitler” on one of his album tracks. These actions upset many people and crossed a serious line.

Ye admitted that his mental state pushed him toward these harmful choices. He stated, “In that fractured state, I gravitated toward the most destructive symbol I could find, the swastika, and even sold t-shirts bearing it. I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change. It does not excuse what I did, though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite. I love Jewish people.”

The rapper also apologized to the Black community. He knows his supporters had to watch him use racist language and symbols. He thanked them for staying by his side and promised to do better going forward. While Ye focuses on his recovery, his ex-wife Kim Kardashian continues her life separate from his controversies.

Ye made it clear he’s getting help for his condition. He ended the letter by asking for forgiveness and patience, not sympathy. Many people are now naming those who disappointed them in a viral trend, though Ye’s situation involves serious public accountability. He’s committed to making real changes and holding himself accountable for his actions.
