This Guardians fan ripped out the home run ball from a young girl’s hand, but instant “pressure” forced him to reconsider his decision

He had to be the bigger person.

Who doesn’t want the exact football or the baseball played by their favorite team on their shelf? I think nobody would mind this, just like these fans in the stadium recently. MLB, like any other sport, could boost your enthusiasm to the point that you can do things in excitement that seem questionable, only to realize you were wrong later. This adult male Cleveland Guardians fan has gone through a similar scenario after snatching a ball from a young girl’s hand.

It didn’t seem to be too much, but his actions were still questionable. As a result, according to the New York Post, this fan, whose name is reportedly Max Quinn, has decided to return the baseball. This reversal came under the spotlight, especially after the girl’s mom, Nikki DeVore, posted about it in a Facebook post.

In a clip, the Guardians fan can be seen catching the baseball. He nearly caught the ball, but it slipped off his hand, landing near the young girl. She then tries to pick it up, but Quinn takes it away from his as he was the one who almost got it initially. The fan has deleted his social media account per Brobible, but before it, he posted a photo with the ball and made it clear that he had returned it to the little one.

The ball was returned to the little girl way before she left the stadium

The footage doesn’t show the full story of what happened after the ball was taken away from the kid. Max Quinn allegedly wrote, “The part you didn’t see, was me giving the ball to the little girl,” he also added. “Just because I got the ball doesn’t mean I ended up with the ball.” This suggests that the baseball was handed over to the kid already, and even her mother has confirmed it.

After the Cleveland Guardians versus Tampa Bay Rays, Nikki, the kid’s mother wrote, “Dude gave the home run ball back to her last inning.” In a separate post, her side of the story continued with, “You all watched the man steal the ball from my daughter. You know my son went to ask him for the ball, which was so brave. I just have to say thank you to Tampa for broadcasting it, when the Cleveland broadcast cut to puppies rather than show the man stealing the ball from a child.”

Following the brawl between the Angels and Braves, this is another MLB story that is making a lot of headlines. Nikki mentioned that it was the “pressure” that led Max to return the ball to her daughter. It’s not like DeVore wasn’t thankful to him, as she also said, “we appreciated him doing the right thing.” The Tampa Bay Rays took home an impressive 3-2 victory, while this Guardians fan not only lost the game but also a meaningful baseball.

Some may think that the ball should’ve have stayed in his custody as he was the one who nearly caught it in the first place. The ball was coming straight at Quinn, got it into his hand, but it slipped. But, at the same time, the little fan nearly carried it away as well. It seems like the fan realized it later that his actions were indeed questionable, and as a result, he returned the ball to the kid, which would be a noteworthy sacrifice for any passionate fan.
