A Tampa woman appeared displeased with the price and said “I’m done eating out” after paying $70 for a meal at Five Guys. According to the Daily Dot, the woman shared a video describing her experience when she visited Five Guys with her husband. She claimed the server “bullied” them into getting shakes they didn’t want and described how the $70 order didn’t meet her expectations. No comments from Five Guys were found.
In her video, the woman started by saying she’s done with eating out because, according to her, she’s “underwhelmed” with the food and “overwhelmed” by its cost. After that, the woman said she went to Five Guys with her husband, “Hayes,” because he was craving a cheeseburger. According to her, they ordered two cheeseburgers and two fries. However, she also claimed that they ended up ordering two shakes, even though they didn’t want them.
As per her description, the server “bullied” the couple into buying shakes. She recalled, “The lady basically bullied us into the shakes. We both told her no, and she just kept on it. Oh, you need to shake. You need to shake. You gotta get a shake. You can’t hear, like, lady, are you working on commission or what?” She then mentioned what shakes they ordered, saying, “But guess what? Guess who got a shake. Two shakes. Oreo and Oreo cream, please.”
Here comes the $70 bill…
After describing what they ordered, the woman then mentioned the $70 bill. She asked, “$70 what?” Apart from appearing unenthusiastic towards the price, she said that the food “wasn’t even good.” According to her, the burger had an excessive amount of cheese, so she “couldn’t even see the meat.” Following this description, she claimed that she is “never” going back, saying, “It wasn’t good at all. Not at all. Never again.”
The woman’s video gained significant traction on TikTok, garnering over 300,000 views, with several people sharing their opinions on her concern. One also seemed unenthusiastic towards the price, saying, “I would have put the food down and walked away for that. There’s no burger and fries worth $35.” Similarly, another person wrote, “$70 is crazy, 2 shakes , 2 cheeseburgers and 2 small fries is $44 where I am. still too much.”
Another person also shared their opinion, asking, “It seems like restaurant quality plummeted after Covid. Anyone else feel that way?” The comment section consisted of similar ideas from the audience. Returning to the woman, the incident is not independently verified, and no comments from Five Guys have been found since the video gained traction.
