The next Call of Duty game from Activision has yet to be announced. We do know that Sledgehammer Games is working on it, following Activision’s announcement that they’ve transitioned to a three year development cycle. But what will it be? There have been plenty of rumors to suggest that the next game will be a Modern Warfare game — Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 to be more precise.

This weekend, a popular Call of Duty YouTuber (Drift0r) added fuel to the fire, claiming that an insider has leaked details about the next game. According to the leak, the next Call of Duty game will be Modern Warfare 4.

The YouTuber claims that he has seen in-game assets for Modern Warfare 4, and that its a more futuristic take on Call of Duty than Modern Warfare 3 was. Unfortunately, he also doesn’t seem to be 100% convinced that what he saw was legitimate.

Have a view for yourself.

True or not, we’ll likely be hearing official word about the next Call of Duty game in the coming months. Last year, you’ll remember that Activision began teasing Call of Duty: Ghosts in April, with a full reveal in May.

Regardless of these most recent rumors, there has been concrete evidence that the next Modern Warfare game is being developed. A developer resume outed his involvement in “The Next Modern Warfare” back in July 2013.
