Rumors surfaced this weekend that The Last Guardian had been cancelled. It’s looking like this rumor is untrue, or very funny for Sony employees.

The Last Guardian has NOT been cancelled

Scott Rohde PlayStation Software Product Development Head for Sony Worldwide Studios America, pretty much put these rumors to bed, laughing off The Last Guardian cancellation speculation.

“@notaxation @yosp and I laughed at this rumor over dinner. The Last Guardian has NOT been cancelled,” Rohde said via Twitter.

The Last Guardian is one of the leftover games from the PlayStation 3 generation that never made it to market. The game has seen a troubled development cycle, though Sony has continued to confirm that the game will arrive… eventually.

Many are hoping that Sony has more to share about The Last Guardian at E3 2014. Though with the game approaching Half Life 3 status, noone is getting their hopes up too high for a re-reveal of the game.
