Destiny: A Guide to Public Events

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Destiny has a lot to offer and keep up with out of the game, one of which is Public Events. Public events are random occurring events that take place at periodic times on each planet.

They offer various rewards and are ranked on three tiers, gold, silver and bronze. Gold going to those who are able to fully complete the event. Rewards also await at the Postmaster for the daily rewards for completing your first event.  Each planet has events and some are unique to each planet and others are more of the same. They range from defending a WARSAT from enemy forces, to eliminating an enemy before he reaches the goal, and to preventing enemies to enter a certain area.

Note: As long as you are in any of the areas below when the event starts, which is every 25-35 minutes, you will have an orange notification come above your screen and it will direct you to the event via an on-screen marker. Also keep in mind, events are random so if two different events occur in the same area, you have a random chance of getting either when the event notification pops up.

Earth/Cosmodrome

Defend The Warsat

Locations: Mothyards, Forgotten Shore, and Skywatch
When this event occurs players are to defend a Warsat once it goes online by activating a Ghost to it. The data is relayed and the more players helping out and defending it from Fallen the better and faster it goes. Enemies will continue to come until the Warsat is completed or destroyed. Players must hold the position until the ticker reaches 100%.

Eliminate The Target

Locations: Mothyards, Forgotten Shores, Rocketyard
In this event, players must eliminate an Ultra Fallen Captain before he slowly makes his way to his destination. Failure if he arrives at his final checkpoint, simple enough.

Defeat The Extraction Crews

Locations:The Steppes, Mothyards, Forgotten Shores
Fallen ships will fly overhead and will drop enemies at random locations. Players will have to go from location to location, clearing out the crews of Fallen for a total of three drop locations.

Destroy Fallen Walker

Location: The Divide
This event only takes place in The Divide and spawns the giant walker from the Cosmodrome Strike event right into the battlefield for players to take down. If players want the gold tier reward for this, they will have to take it down within five minutes.

There’s all the events that are currently available in Destiny across all planets. We neglected to list the frequency of the events because a recent patch applied to all versions of Destiny, changes the frequency and makes them occur more commonly in the world.
