Life is Strange – Launch Trailer

Life is Strange, the episodic game being developed by Dontnod Entertainment and published by Square Enix, has had its launch trailer released. You can watch it in its entirety below.

Life is Strange is a part of the boom in episodic gaming made popular by Telltale Games with titles like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Tales From the Borderlands. The crux of this genre of games is to make choices, watch as events unfold because of your decision and then having to make more choices to deal with your new situation. Life is Strange takes it to the next level.

Of course, with developers who made Remember Me, a game that has a lot of mind-buggery (or at least attempts to), you would expect some pretty funky stuff from Life is Strange. For, you see, the main character of the game has the ability to control time. That means you can rewind the clock if you don’t like the choices you’ve made.

Now, it isn’t entirely clear how far you can rewind the clock and you can be sure some sort of  limitation will be put upon the power, but we won’t know for sure until we get our hands on it. Until then, you can be sure that Life is Strange is definitely not just some copy cat, but a game worthy of your attention.

Life is Strange is set to release on the 30th of January for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Playstation 4, Playstation 3 and PC.
