Following the latest AAA gaming trend, Halo 5: Guardians will feature store exclusive pre-order DLC bonuses. The first one to be announced is the Spartan Locke Armor Set coming to Gamestop. The announcement was made via a 30 and 60 second promo, the longer of which can be seen above. Unfortunately, while the trailer is fun and interesting to look at, it doesn’t offer up too much information about the DLC other than that it exists and that you can get it by pre-ordering at Gamestop.

Presumably, this is for the multiplayer component of Halo 5: Guardians, as that is usually where players can customize their armor. The title suggests that players will be able to don the same armor worn by Spartan Locke in the single player campaign. It should be a simple cosmetic change, offering no alteration to gameplay in any way.

Of course, this isn’t the first time the Halo series has had pre-order bonuses. Halo 4 also featured a few, with Best Buy, Amazon, EB Games, and others all getting their own exclusive armor sets for buyers to enjoy. Given this track record, this announcement is likely just the beginning. Soon many other stores will be trying to entice buyers with their exclusive items, which could include more armor, online badges, and more. As long as it is kept to cosmetic items, most gamers aren’t too upset, so hopefully that is the case here as well.

Halo 5: Guardians will launch exclusively on Xbox One on October 27th.
