Nintendo has reported on its financial results for fiscal year 2015 and the 3DS and Wii U sales totals were revealed.

The Nintendo Wii U is inching closer to the 10 million mark as 9.54 million units have been sold worldwide. In the fiscal year of 2015, Nintendo sold 3.38 million more Wii U consoles. This is up from the 2.72 million consoles the company sold in fiscal year 2014. We can all thank the Wii U’s strong lineup last year as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros were released.

The Nintendo 3DS on the other hand has been selling at a higher rate. Total sales of the handheld console now stands at 52.06 million consoles to date. The 3DS sold 8.73 million units in fiscal year 2015. This includes all of the variations of the console. However, this is down from the 12.24 million 3DS consoles sold in fiscal year 2014.

In terms of specific breakdowns for Nintendo 3DS consoles, the New 3DS sold 800,000 units since launch while the New 3DS XL sold 2.45 million units. It’s worth noting the New 3DS is not available in North America which is probably why it’s a lower number. However, Nintendo is said to be happy with the way the two new consoles have been selling.
