EA Sports has now announced a special partnership with Real Madrid that will last for three years. There will also be updated player models in FIFA 16.

EA Sports announced on Twitter earlier today that it is to be “the exclusive and official videogame partner of Real Madrid“.

It will be a three year partnership with the football club. EA Sports also revealed they have done 3D head scans for 14 Real Madrid players. They have updated the existing character models to make the players appear more realistic.

It’s still early days to know how this will affect Konami and its PES video games going forward. This is an indication that we might see a lot of Real Madrid players being the main focus for FIFA games.

EA Sports signed a deal with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi a few years ago and his face has been on the cover for each FIFA game every year. This new partnership could mean will see see a lot more Real Madrid players getting promoted instead.

FIFA 16 will be out from September 22nd, 2015. It is the first game of the series tot feature women players.
