Fallout 4 has now been rated with a MA15+ rating over in the country of Australia.
The official classification board for Australia has now rated Fallout 4 on its website. The main content descriptor is that it includes “Strong violence”.
It has moderate impact themes, language, drug use, and sex. There is no nudity in the game. It has strong impact violence as stated above. However, there is no high impact for any of these descriptors.
Some Australians are scared the game has a MA15+ rating instead of R18+. They feel there is a chance the game could be censored for them. This is because Fallout 3 was censored in some parts when it came out back in 2008.
The classification website did state they rated the “original” version of Fallout 4. This could be a hint that Australians are getting the proper version being released worldwide. It looks like they won’t be getting a censored version like before.
Australia has had a patchy history when it comes to video game censorship. In the past, many games have been banned outright or censored heavily. It took ages for them to even introduce the R18+ rating for video games.
Fallout 4 releases November 10th, 2015 worldwide for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One platforms.
