The Nintendo Direct became a staple for the company a few years ago as the method of making big announcements for games, while also showing off upcoming releases. Upon the sudden death of Nintendo president Satoru Iwata this past summer, many wondered if that may be the end of them, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.
While Iwata wasn’t the first host of these, he quickly took over then and endeared himself to the fans, to where some can’t imagine having a Nintendo Direct without him.
Nintendo named a new president in Tatsumi Kimishima not too long ago and while speaking with Wall Street Journal, he confirmed that the Nintendo Direct presentations were very much alive.
Not only did Kimishima reveal that more Nintendo Directs would be coming, he stated that at least one more is coming this year. With only two full months to go, this would mean one has to be coming soon more than likely, as it would make sense to use one to hype the holiday releases coming in November and ending with Xenoblade Chronicles X in December.
There have also been plenty of rumors lately with a lot of legs, such as a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and Pokemon Z, so there definitely are some possible games to announce as well. Make sure to stay tuned and we’ll let you know as soon as the next Nintendo Direct is announced.
