Not many people would necessarily think of Bethesda when it comes to the mobile gaming market due to the massive scope of the games that they typically make. However, this year’s Fallout Shelter proved to be a massive success and has unsurprisingly resulted in interest from the studio to increase game development for the mobile market, in addition to PC and console games.

Thus, the company has announced that they have opened another studio located in Montreal, Quebec that is looking to expand their development for “console, PC, and mobile gaming.” The console and PC parts of that are unsurprising, but it is interesting to see that the company will continue to deliver more bite-sized experiences in the future, as well.

Bethesda Game Studio’s executive producer, Todd Howard, revealed that the company had been working with a group of developers in Montreal for a while now, which lead to the company deciding that it was “time to open a studio there.” The new studio will be managed by Yves Lachance, who worked with the studio responsible for Fallout Shelter. The new team currently contains 40 members, though they are looking for new people to join the team.

Bethesda’s Fallout Shelter launched earlier this year for both iOS and Android devices, grossing over $5 million in microtransactions within the first two weeks of release alone.
