Before Hideo Kojima departed Konami, he expressed interest for somebody to remake Metal Gear Solid 1 using modern technology. Nothing official has progressed, but a fan has rendered Shadow Moses in Unreal Engine 4.

The videos were created by I Ram Gaming and he has been working on recreating Shadow Moses since late last year. It’s still a work in progress, but the game looks a lot better in Unreal Engine 4 than it did back in the ’90s with the original game engine.

Metal Gear Solid 1 was sadly not included in the HD MGS Collection that came out a few years ago. The collection only included Peace Walker, Sons of Liberty and Snake Eater. They chose not to remaster Twin Snakes because that game was owned by Nintendo.

Metal Gear Solid 1 was only remade for Nintendo’s Gamecube but it wasn’t perfect. Some of the music changed and the voices sounded a little off sometimes. A perfect remake would get the original music and voice actors with modern graphics.

Konami is supposed to be working on a new AAA Metal Gear Solid game, but nothing has been announced as of yet.
