The Division Guide: How to Leave a Group or Fireteam

Tom Clancy’s The Division is all about the multiplayer. Not only will random players be dropped into your gaming world, but you are also compelled in various ways to group up and become a true team. The methods of doing this are pretty easy, using The Division’s excellent matchmaking, or finding random people and teaming up. However, once you have a group, it can be tough to leave it. Here’s a very quick guide for how to leave a group or fireteam in The Division.

The first and easiest part of this is to just open up your menu with Start or Escape, depending on what platform you are playing on. Once the menu is open, select the Group Management section, which should be on the top, and in the middle. Here is where you’ll see the various members of your group, listing their names and stats. You can do a bunch of things here, like kick other players if you are the leader, or even make another member of the group the leader instead.

This is also where you can leave a group in The Division. Just don’t select any other player, or select yourself if you already have. On the right will be the many options that are available to you, and the top one will be “Leave Group”. Select this and you are separated from your current group, though you will remain in the game.

After a short loading screen you should appear right back where you were in The Division’s map. However, you’ll be on your own, and out of your previous group. Pretty easy, but very few things in The Division are intuitive, or well explained. If you have any trouble with this, or any other part of The Division, let us know in the comments below, or check out our other guides.
