Halo 5: Guardians released last year and brought us a rather meaty experience at launch, but 343 Industries has kept bringing us more content since release. We got the inclusion of Grifball awhile back and now another fan favorite is coming soon with the previously announced Infection mode.

Way back in the days of Halo 2, the zombie custom game mode took off and eventually made its way into Halo 3 as an official game mode known as Infection, which also was included in other entries as well. The game mode has been missing for awhile, but it is finally being added to Halo 5: Guardians later this month.

In an exclusive video with Game Informer, 343 community coordinator John Junyszek and multiplayer engineer Geoff Landskov provided us with a good bit of gameplay showing off what we can expect from Infection this time around.

Infection will include three modified maps from amongst existing ones, as well as some other features that will set it apart enough from the past iterations of this fun game mode. Even more details were also revealed in a text interview with Game Informer as well.

For those interested in checking out the gameplay for Infection in Halo 5: Guardians, you can see it in the video below and hopefully we’ll see this mode added very soon.
