Call of Duty still continues to be one of the biggest juggernauts in all of gaming and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down, especially after the massive success of last year’s Black Ops 3. As a result, you’d think the majority would be very excited for the next new entry in the franchise, but based on the reveal trailer for the just announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, some fans do not appear to be too happy with the direction this year’s game is taking.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is taking the series even further forward in the future than we’ve ever seen, which is bound to bring some polarizing opinions in of itself. Adding in the fact that Infinity Ward is handling this year’s game after the disappointing Call of Duty: Ghosts, with the return of space battles from that game, some people are obviously not happy.
This had led to a good bit of complaints from some people that revolve around the setting, gameplay, and even reports of reused animations that starting circulating around the internet.
This can be especially seen through the official reveal trailer for the game on YouTube, which currently has an overwhelming number of dislikes compares to likes. As of right now, the number of dislikes is at around 310,000 while the number of likes is only at 178,000. This is somewhat similar to the dislikes record broken by the upcoming Ghostbusters movie trailer, though it had even more dislikes compared to likes.
It’s obvious that some are just piling on with dislikes because people hate Call of Duty in general, but it definitely shows some discontent in the fan base. Hopefully the game will turn out to be fantastic and a return to form for Infinity Ward, but it’s really hard to judge either way from just the first trailer for the game.
