Ever since Microsoft shifted to releasing new games for the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list as soon as they became available, rather than waiting and releasing them in chunks each week or month, we’ve seen it grow exponentially. Today sees one of its biggest growths yet, with five new games hitting Xbox One Backwards Compatibility. Unlike other larger release days, these are a wide variety of titles from different genres and segments of gaming history. There’s arcade classics, mixed with some indie favorites, and a AAA RPG.
The games being added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list are: Final Fight: Double Impact, Faery: Legends of Avalon, Frogger 2, Puzzlegeddon, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut. All five games are available to play right now on your Xbox One. If you already owned the games digitally via the Xbox Store then they have been added to your account automatically, and you just need to download them as normal. If you own the disc version, just pop it in to initiate the download. You’ll still have to insert the disc to play every time.
There are now over 180 titles available on the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list, with favorites like Halo, Sonic, Soul Calibur, and Gears of War joining lesser known games such as Outland, Putty Squad, and Skullgirls. It seems like Microsoft isn’t being too picky with the titles they add to the feature, insuring that every gamer has something on the list that they might want to play.
