Are you eager to buy a PlayStation 4 but you are not convinced by the black model? Then this is your lucky day, because Sony has announced via their European PlayStation Blog that they will be releasing a Glacier White version of PS4 Slim on January 24th.
The new PS4 model will be released the same day across the PAL region, Japan, and the rest of Asia. While the announcement doesn’t mention a date for the American market, we certainly expect to see a release in that region at a near date.
The only version announced of PlayStation 4 Glacier White will be available including a 500GB HDD and an accompanying Glacier White Dualshock 4.
This is a very exciting opportunity for PS4 buyers, since they don’t get the chance to buy their console in any color other than black very often. The original model of PlayStation 4 was available in white for a limited time in 2014 as a way of celebrating the release of Bungie’s Destiny. Any other versions in alternate colors have been related to the launch of a specific game, like the famous Metal Gear Solid V version in red and gold, or other special events like the 20th anniversary of PlayStation.
At this time Sony has not revealed details on the price or limited availability yet, and it’s simply inviting us to contact with retailers. But considering we don’t get the opportunity to buy an alternative version of the console very often, we encourage anyone interested to pre-order one as soon as possible, in case the console is only available for a limited time.
Also out of the press release was any mention of a Glacier White model of PlayStation 4 Pro. If you are more interested in a white version of that console, you should let Sony know in the comments section of their blog.
