The updates keep rolling for Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky this year, as now the 1.24 update is live across all supported platforms. While certainly nowhere near as big as the recent Path Finder update, the developer has announced that this update has been released to address some of the remaining issues following the release of the aforementioned update. These include things like bugs causing player bases to not appear, as well game freezing that could occur while in space.

Update 1.24 is now live on both PlayStation 4 and PC, and the patch notes were also released that you can check out below:

  • Fixed an issue that caused player’s bases not to appear
  • Optimized light shafts, allowing us to enable them on PS4
  • Fixed a game freeze/lock up that could occur when in space
  • Improved frame rate when playing with unlocked frame rate, or vsync disabled
  • Fixed some issues with Steam controller prompts
  • Various minor performance optimisations
  • Fixed some rare crashes & freezes

It wasn’t too long ago when the developer released the 1.23 update, which was far more substantial than the current update and brought some notable new features to the game. Perhaps the biggest one was the addition of a 30fps frame-rate lock on PlayStation 4, which was helpful for those who had been having frame-rate issues with the game since launch. Having the frame-rate locked at 30fps is now the default setting for the game, though those who elect to play the game on PlayStation 4 Pro will have to switch it on manually. However, considering the improved power of the Pro there aren’t as many issues with frame-rate.

As always, if you’re still a regular No Man’s Sky player and are experiencing issues that haven’t been addressed in a patch yet, then be sure to report it to the developers by clicking right here. No Man’s sky is available for PlayStation 4 and PC.
