Update: Epic Games has removed the guided missile from Fortnite: Battle Royale on 4/17/18
The latest update for Fortnite: Battle Royale has added yet another new powerful weapon into the game with the Guided Missile. This new weapon works similar to the rocket launcher, but after launching a rocket you’ll be able to precisely control where the rocket lands.
Once launched, the Guided Missile runs on a timer, so you have a limited amount of time to direct the rocket to land an attack. There are some downsides to the Guided Missile that keep it from being overpowered at this point. The Guided Missile is a little on the slow side, and can seemingly be shot out of the sky by other players as it features a health bar of its own.
Some Fortnite players are using the weapon in unique ways, which include using it to launch other players or using it to ride the missile themselves. The Guided Missile in Fortnite: Battle Royale can currently be found in Epic (Purple) and Legendary (Orange) varieties. Like other weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale, the Epic version of the weapon is slightly higher than the Legendary one. For the Guided Missile, the Epic version delivers 110 damage, while the Legendary version delivers 105. Some other stats for the Guided Missile include: 1000 Damage to the Environment, Speed of 1300 units/second, Time between shots of: 3.13 seconds, and a lifetime of 18 seconds.
The Guided Missile in Fortnite: Battle Royale was added as part of the latest update for the game and is currently live.
Finding the Guided Missile in Fortnite: Battle Royale is going to take a little luck. The items will be found in Supply Drops and Treasure Chests in the game.
