Tales of Arise is a massive game and knowing how to save will save you a lot of grief. Heh. Alphen and Shionne’s journey to liberate the land is full of memorable moments and tough battles. Losing a battle may not mean an immediate game over but if you happen to rage quit or the power goes out, there’s a chance the autosave won’t be in a place you really want. Luckily, the game does have a nice way to manually save to ensure everything is taken care of. Here is everything we know on how to save in Tales of Arise.
How to Save in Tales of Arise
To save in Tales of Arise, open the main menu, head to system, then use the save option. Here you can create multiple saves to load up once you continue your game again. Of note, the game does autosave fairly frequently but using manual saves can help especially before tackling some of the game’s many harder challenges. Also, you can save literally anywhere so be sure to use it frequently, especially after a big accomplishment. See below for an odd interaction we found with the DLC.
If You Accidentally Redeem Too Early, You Can Go Back
DLC in Tales of Arise is flag-based. This means that when you redeem it on a save file, it flags that the DLC has been used but does not keep that in memory unless you fully save the game. With that in mind, if you wanted to see what certain items like the SP boost or outfits actually do you could save your game, redeem the DLC, then see what it does and reload your save. As long as you don’t save again after redemption, the DLC flag is not stored. Yeah, it’s not the most useful observation but someone may find a good way to utilize it.
Tales of Arise is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Check out our review of the game here.
