A recent leak has revealed logos and achievements for GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. For a long time, it has been rumored that Rockstar would be releasing GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas in the form of remasters. However, Rockstar has yet to confirm or deny any of the rumors. The latest leaks seem to be the firmest evidence yet that the games will be remastered and bundled together as a trilogy.
Although old, GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas remain beloved and iconic titles due to the significant impact they have had on gaming. GTA 3 revolutionized and popularized the open-world genre, laying the groundwork which the rest of the GTA franchise would work off of. GTA: Vice City captured the aesthetics of 1980s Miami while pushing the envelope in terms of what controversial content could feature in video games. GTA: San Andreas remains the bestselling PS2 game to date. While the games are available on modern consoles, they do show their age, making the idea of a remaster quite appealing to many.
The leak reveals new logos and achievements for the GTA trilogy which includes GTA 3, GTA: Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas. Images posted on the GTA Forums feature a “The Definitive Edition” subtitle, which suggests that they are for the remasters of the games. The logos also have gold borders. Icons for the three games were also found by BS_BlackScout within the files of the Rockstar Launcher app, and they sport the same gold border. Images for achievements for the three games were also leaked by alloc8or and posted on the GTA Forum. This only provides further evidence of an upcoming remake of the GTA trilogy.
The recent leak suggests that GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition may be on its way very soon. However, it will not be the only remaster that Rockstar is cooking up. GTA V Expanded & Enhanced edition is set to release in March 2022. The game is geared towards the PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. It will feature both technical and graphical enhancements. If you are a PlayStation gamer, there are extra perks offered. GTA: Online players will be able to collect $1 million in in-game currency every month until the game launches. Furthermore, GTA: Online will be free to claim for the first three months on PS5.
Rockstar has not commented on GTA Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. As such, the games have yet to receive a release date.
