Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Review In-Progress

We are reviewing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at the moment.  Though our official score on the game is embargoed until next week, a video embargo just lifted which has allowed us to publish up to two hours of content from the early parts of the game.  If you’re wondering what Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is like, this 2-hour long, lightly edited footage below will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect.

What we already had established coming out of a recent preview event that we attended for the game is that there is a lot to do in Odyssey.  Ubisoft has seemingly taken every good mechanic from the long running franchise and incorporated it into this game.  The two hours of footage shown in the video below doesn’t even get to some of the things that we showed off in a previous video, which includes massive battles, naval combat, the bounty system, and customization options.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Spoiler Warning

Our full review for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will arrive on October 1st, until then you can get an idea of what to expect in the video below.  We’ve edited the video below to remove some of the spoiler content, but it’s going to depend on what you consider to be spoilers.

The video is going to go from the opening cinematic and gameplay to the first main location that we explore with Kassandra.  While this first area, Kefalonia is a hub that teaches you the basics for the game, it still introduces you to some major characters in the game.
