I kind of messed up and didn’t get this up for December 2016, but that’s no reason to quit! Last month was king of a dull one anyway for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Games with Gold. Sure, there were some good free games, but nothing mind blowing. Unfortunately it seems like the new year is gonna be more of the same as well though, with solid entries for both services, but nothing that will have people scrambling. Where’s our second coming of Rocket League PS Plus? Got any more Halo’s back there Xbox Live Games with Gold? No? OK, well here’s PlayStation Plus vs. Xbox Live Games with Gold for January 2017.

The Winner Is…
Oh what a classic show of the differences between PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Games with Gold. On the PS Plus side we have more, but less stellar titles which are also mostly newer but not brand new. Xbox Live Games with Gold side we have a brand new game along with four solid entries, but going further back in time to get the best one. But which one wins?
I’m going with Xbox Live Games with Gold for January 2017. It just has better games, both in my opinion and according to critical reviews. Rayman Origins and Killer Instinct Season 2 are easily the two best games on this entire list and are much more likely to be played by me and tons of other players who might not have picked them up just yet.
Day of the Tentacle and This War of Mine are nice competition and Titan Souls was a good little cult hit, but to me they don’t topple the Xbox Live Games with Gold options on their own. The other games on the PS Plus side will fill out your inventory, but likely won’t be picked up and played, so that negates PS Plus’ usual “more games” advantage for me.
This is, of course, just my opinion though. Who won PlayStation Plus vs. Xbox Live Games with Gold for January 2017 for you? Shout it out in the comments.
