New information has come to the surface about the new entry on the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 2 already has a release date, and today a small teaser was released, giving away a small glimpse of what is coming in the next title.
Call of Duty fans have been eager to get any type of information regarding the next entry on the rebooted Modern Warfare series. Lots of leaks and unconfirmed information regarding the next entry have been spread in the last couple of months, and fans are always on the lookout for more information. Some fans were speculating about the sequel’s release date, and so far, players did not have any clues on when is coming, but that changed earlier today.
Who is Modern Warfare 2’s Alejandro Vargas?
Today, the official Call of Duty website published an article regarding the new entry in the Modern Warfare series, and we got to learn some information regarding the next entry of the series. Some well-known characters of the series were mentioned in the article, characters like Simon “Ghost” Riley, Captain John Price, Kyle “Gaz” Garrick, and John “Soap” MacTavish made an appearance on the post, but one name does not ring a bell. The last name on the short sentence was Alejandro Vargas. Some veterans of the Call of Duty series will remember a character with a similar name in the old Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 entry.
According to the article, Colonel Alejandro Vargas is a member of the Special Mexican Forces. Back in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, there was a character called Alejandro Rojas. This character shows up in a couple of missions, serving as a minor antagonist just after the infamous airport mission in the game’s campaign.
The character’s name could be just a coincidence or it could mean something else. There is a good chance that this new character is just a new take on the former foe from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, taking advantage of the name of a character that veterans of the series now.
There is not a lot of time between now and the announced release date, so we should be getting more information about the title and characters in the following months.
Modern Warfare 2 will release on October 28.
