Anthem: How to Heal

When in combat in Anthem there are a few things that you’re going to need to manage if you want to survive.  You’ll need to be mindful of your health, your shields, and your ammunition.  In the top left hand corner of the screen you’re going to see your health and your shield levels.  The green bar is your health and the blue bar is your shield.  If the green bar gets to zero your Javelin will malfunction and you’ll need to be revived by squad or you’ll need to respawn.  This guide will explain how to get health in Anthem to keep that from happening.

How to heal in Anthem

Each time that you kill an enemy in Anthem you’re going to get a chance to refill some of  your health.  So long as you’re on the lookout for the health containers that enemies are dropping.  They are a red color contain with a heart on them.  These items have a glowing light that make them easy to recognize, but with the fast pace of combat it isn’t always clear straight away what they do.

Walking over these items will slightly restore your health.  Your character will automatically pick them up when close to them, and they’ll automatically be used to restore health.  If you’re extremely low on health you’ll want to pick up as many of these items as possible until the green bar in the top left corner of the screen is completely full.

You won’t automatically lose health when you are shot.  Your shields will absorb initial damage from enemies.  Unfortunately, this doesn’t re-generate right away so it’s best to keep your health topped off at all times by collecting these red health capsules when enemies drop them.

Outside of collecting these items there really isn’t any other health management system in Anthem.  Simply kill more enemies if you find yourself low on health and pick up these red canisters to restore your HP.
