Fighting games are often known for having unlockable characters included in the game in which you have to complete certain tasks to gain access to that character. Mortal Kombat 11 does not have a bunch of unlockable characters, with only one being available to unlock outright with Frost. This guide will detail how you can unlock Frost.
How To Unlock Frost In Mortal Kombat 11
Frost is not some crazy hidden character character in Mortal Kombat 11 like Reptile was in the classic Mortal Kombat, as she is listed right in the main menu but grayed out from the start. You will notice that this actually does state how you can unlock Frost on the menu itself, but there’s more to it than it seems.
The player select icon for Frost explains that you must beat Chapter 4 in the game’s story mode to unlock her. However, you will notice that you will not receive a prompt informing you that you have unlocked her while playing through story mode.
You may think that this is just them not wanting to interrupt the flow of the story mode, but there’s actually more to it. To unlock Frost, you have to fully complete Chapter 4: Fire & Ice, which is one of the chapters in the game with two playable characters instead of just one.
In this chapter, you get to choose between playing as either Scorpion or Sub-Zero for each of the four fights. To gain access to Frost in the game, you must go back after the fact and then pick the opposite character you did originally for each of them, to where you have a checkmark by all eight boxes for the chapter as a whole.
Once you go back and do this via Chapter Select, you will receive a prompt telling you that you have now unlocked Frost as a playable character for the various modes in Mortal Kombat 11.
