Pokemon GO Alola to Alola Event: Which Pokemon Are Wild Encounters, Can They Be Shiny?

Recommended Videos

As the Season of Alola comes to a close in Pokemon GO, you’ll have one last go to get your hands on some great Pokemon in the game. You’ll want to make sure that you’re checking everything out while this event is running from May 25th at 10:00 AM until May 31st at 8:00 PM local time, and see what you’ll be able to find in the wild.

However, there are players that love to Shiny Hunt for the newest Pokemon, and this season brings some great chances for that. Which Pocket Monsters will you be able to find in the wild, and which ones have a chance to be shiny? Let’s take a look into it, and see what you’ll be able to find!

Shine On, You Crazy Pokemon

Magikarp-Pokemon-GO

For players that are unfamiliar with the idea of Shiny Pokemon, you’ll be able to tell if you’ve come across one fairly quickly with a few visual cues. The first thing that you’ll notice is that they may have a different color scheme, while some are a slight variation of their original color scheme. The other thing you’ll notice is a bright flash and some stars that emerge when they come onto the screen, signifying that there is something different about this Pokemon.

If you’re out and about and happen to run into some of the event Pokemon, there is a good chance that you may be able to get your hands on a Shiny. As you’re on your adventures, keep a lookout for all of these different monsters, and those that are in bold have a chance to be Shiny:

  • Alolan Rattata
  • Cubone
  • Rowlet
  • Litten
  • Popplio
  • Pikipek
  • Yungoos
  • Alolan Meowth
  • Alolan Exeggutor

You’ll also be able to hatch 7km eggs that may have exclusive Alolan type Pokemon, as well as some harder to find ones, as well:

  • Alolan Rattata
  • Alolan Sandshrew
  • Alolan Vulpix
  • Alolan Diglett
  • Alolan Meowth
  • Alolan Grimer
  • Dewpider
  • Fomantis
  • Stufful
  • Oranguru

And while the 5- Star Raids and Mega Raids do not have a chance for Shiny Pokemon to appear, the lower 1-Star and 3-Star Raids all have monsters that can all be shiny, if you are lucky enough:

1-Star Raids

  • Alolan Rattata
  • Alolan Diglett
  • Alolan Geodude
  • Alolan Grimer
  • Rockruff

3-Star Raids

  • Alolan Raichu
  • Alolan Exeggutor
  • Alolan Marowak

And there we have it, all of the different opportunities you’ll have to get your hands on not only some new Pokemon for your collection, but a fair amount of them have a chance to be Shiny, as well! Get out there, and say Alola to Alola in style!
