Pokemon Let’s Go: How to Get Mew

Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu takes you all the way back to where the series began in the Kanto region. While the Pokedex may have expanded to include over 800 individual characters, it’s the original 150 you’ll be after this time…or is it 151? Yes, once again there is the elusive Mew acting like he both is and is not a part of the Gen 1 roster. He’s in the game though, so how do you get him? Here’s a quick guide on how to get Mew in Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu.

Mew is actually very tough to get in Pokemon Let’s Go. Unfortunately he’s not hiding under the truck this time. Instead he’s hiding inside of all of those Poke Ball Plus accessories you see in stores. Yes, to get Mew in this game you have to purchase the added device that comes with the special edition, or is sold separately. Without the Poke Ball Plus you can’t get Mew, so if you want that full 151 Pokedex you’d better grab one.

Once attained the process is simple. Just connect the device and go to into the in-game menu (top button). Now go to Communicate and Mystery Gift, then select “Get with Poke Ball Plus” and follow the prompts. This will add Mew to your game, but be careful. You need to save afterward, and this is a one-time process. If you trade Mew or lose your save file, you cannot get another one.
