Things can get pretty crazy out in the post apocalyptic wasteland of Remnant: From the Ashes. There’s monsters, beasts, and tons of other types of enemies that all want you dead. Thankfully you have a few tools at your disposal for taking these things down. Your trusty firearms are there when you need them most, but sometimes the enemy gets too close or you run out of ammo. What do you do then? Here’s how to melee in Remnant: From the Ashes.
How to Melee
The answer is one of those where it seems simple, but in the heat of the moment can escape you. In the tutorial the game explained that to melee you simply press the attack button. This is complicated later when the attack button’s uses expands to include all those new, shiny guns you have. While this may seem like it changes things, it actually doesn’t.
Yes, the attack button also fires your guns now, but only when you have them aiming at something. Pulling the left trigger or pressing the right mouse button brings your gun up and aims. If this isn’t pressed then hitting the Attack button, which by default is the right trigger or left mouse button, will still perform a standard melee attack. Any time you’re wandering around and need to break a box, or hammer in the skull of some ambushing enemy you can simply pull the right trigger and melee as expected.
And that’s how to melee in Remnant: From the Ashes. One of those things that’s simple and easy when you know it, but can be endlessly frustrating if you don’t. And with ammo being in short supply, it can be the key to victory and survival when in the face of death and defeat. Just be sure you upgrade your melee weapon when you have a chance.
