Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: How to Unlock Wolf

While Fox may be famous as one of the best fighters in all of Super Smash Bros., fans are excited to try out his nemesis: Wolf. First added in Brawl, Wolf serves as a bit of a heavier fighter than his counterpart. As with most characters in SSBU, he is unlockable, and there are a few ways to do it. To break them all down, here’s how to unlock Wolf in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

You can always unlock characters by playing through the World of Light adventure mode. By the end of this lengthy journey you should have a full roster of characters. In this case, Wolf is unlocked deep into the affair, in the Mysterious Dimension. If you want to go this route, it might take awhile, but you should get him in the course of the main quest, so no worries if you haven’t seen him yet. Just keep playing and you’ll get there. The quickest way to unlock Wolf in Super Smash Bros Ultimate

For a faster way to unlock Wolf in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate you’ll want to turn to Classic Mode. This mode will often present you with a challenger to face after every run through it. Each character will unlock other ones in a line. It all depends on who you already have, who that character is supposed to unlock, and who else they have left. For Wolf you will want to play through with Fox.

To unlock Wolf you will need to unlock six characters before him under Fox.  The order is Captain Falcon, Zero Suit Samus, Peach, Falco, Daisy, Bowser Jr, and then Wolf.   Progressing through this mode and unlocking and playing with any of these characters as you unlock them will ultimately lead you to a battle with Wolf and the ability to permanently unlock him to use. It doesn’t matter what difficulty you set it to.

Alternatively you can stick with the method linked above. Playing Versus will get you a character almost every ten minutes. If you’ve been playing other modes, just swing back in here and load a quick match. By the end you should see a new challenger approach. Defeat them to add them to your roster. Wolf is on this chain, so keep trying, if you can’t get him through World of Light of Classic Mode.
