Pokemon Go Guide: How To Better Your Chances Of Catching Pokemon

Pokemon has long been known for its western slogan of “Gotta Catch ‘Em All,” which is even more true now in Pokemon Go than it has ever been before. The early Pokemon you will be catching are pretty easy to catch, but as with any Pokemon game, the difficulty of catching them gradually increases throughout the experience.

The early part of the game is very simplistic in that really all you can do is find a Pokemon and throw a Poke Ball at it. However, as you continue to level up in Pokemon Go, there are ways in which you can increase your chances of capturing the various Pokemon, one of which seems like it’s right out of the Safari Zone.

We’ve already told you about how there are other balls you can collect in the game that will increase capture chances, as well as how the capture ring should be at its smallest for the best attempt, but there is one other item that comes into play later that helps quite a bit.

Just like with other items, you must first continue to level up and once you reach level 8, you will be gifted with your first Razz Berry items. These Razz Berry can be given to Pokemon that you find and will make it easier to catch them, which is similar to how it works in the Safari Zone in the original Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow.

You cannot actually buy more Razz Berry through the in-game shop, but you can get more by visiting PokeStops once you get your first batch after reaching level 8. Just be conservative with these, because they should be saved for the tougher Pokemon that you really want in Pokemon Go.
