Sony has just announced that the PlayStation 3 has now been dropped from $299.99 to $249.99.  This means that you can now pick up a 160GB PS3 for $249.99 with all of the standard ammenities that the console comes with.  The 160GB version comes with the HDD, Blu-ray player, built in wireless, access to online gaming on the PlayStation Network, and of course the expanding list of great console exclusives that are offered only on the PS3.

If you’ve never owned a PS3, and haven’t had the opportunity to play the first party titles on the console, you’ve definitely missed some of the best games this generation.

The price cut is said to be effective immediately.
