Amiibo Rap Hilariously Sums Up The Low Stock Situation

by Kyle Hanson

Almost no one could have predicted the massive success of Nintendo’s Amiibo line of collectible figurines. Wave 1 hit late last year, with a few figures selling out relatively quickly. The real frenzy began when it seemed like Nintendo had no plans to restock the more hard-to-get figures, such as Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, and Marth. Wave 2 launched a few weeks later and had even more rare figures, including some store-exclusives that made things much worse for collectors. The situation has only gotten worse from there with more store-exclusives, figures that sell out within minutes of availability, and jacked up prices from scalpers who have started gobbling up all the pre-orders that they can.

Collectors, and regular fans have had a rough time with Amiibo, especially Wave 4. The song above, put together by Youtube channel Hot Chocolate Party seems to sum up the feelings of those fans quite well. The initial excitement over the promise of Amiibo, the wonder at which figure they will buy next, and then the crushing dread as the real situation becomes apparent. Everyone who has hopped on the Amiibo train can sympathize with the video, and the journey that the characters go on throughout.

And if you liked that video, be sure to check out their other Nintendo themed music videos by clicking here, the Luigi Death Stare is a personal favorite..
