Sony and Ubisoft will be bringing PlayStation fans exclusive content for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. The partnership was announced back at E3 2013, and we’ve discovered that the exclusive content will revolve around Aveline, from the PS Vita version of Assassin’s Creed 3.
Detailed on Ubisoft’s Blog, these three PlayStation exclusive missions will make up about an hour of additional content in Assassin’s Creed 4 on PlayStation consoles. It picks up after the events that unfolded in Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation on the handheld.
Ubisoft explains that these missions are like a contained “short story” that revolves around Abstergo Industries.
“It’s a ways forward so Aveline is a bit older,” Lead Writer Darby McDevitt explains. “It’s not directly related to the end of her story. If Assassin’s Creed IV is like a novel, Aveline’s missions are like a short story.”
Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is slated to arrive this October on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC. The game is also slated for next-gen consoles as well, though this exclusive Aveline content will only be available on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
