WB Games and Rocksteady have released the first official trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight’s first DLC pack, Batgirl: A Matter of Family. Set many years before the Arkham series began, Batgirl takes on a mission to save her father, Commissioner Gordon, from the Joker.
This is the first time that players will be able to take control of Batgirl, with previous games only featuring her as her Oracle character. Batman apparently won’t make an appearance as the Joker has said he will kill Gordon if he shows up. However, it seems like Robin, at least, will be helping out.
Batgirl: A Matter of Family will launch on July 14th for Batman: Arkham Knight Season Pass holders, and July 21st for everyone else. Of course, the DLC will only be released on PS4 and Xbox One at the moment as the PC version is still not available anywhere as Rocksteady tries to work out the massive issues that version of the game has experienced.
Some question the decision to release any DLC while the game is still plagued with performance issues on PC. Due to the way game development works though, it is likely that no resources were pulled from the repair effort to finish this up. For those on PC though, it might be a bit painful to have even more content out there that they can’t enjoy.
