After shooting down the possibility of progression transferring between platforms, like say from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One, DICE is apparently “investigating” this as a feature for Battlefield 4. Following the community saying this is something that they would be interested in having the for the shooter, DICE issued the following tweet.
We’re investigating cross-gen BF4 career progression, says DICE
“We’ve heard reports that players would like their stats and progression to transfer from current to next-gen in BF4. We’re investigating.”
On the cusp of launches for next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft, it’s a feature that is understandably wanted by the Battlefield 4 console community. It’s hard to tell whether or not this will be possible for DICE to do, but with all the new features in the Battlelog 2.0, this could very well be an easy feature for DICE to implement. They already keep track of all player statistics for the shooter with the Battlelog, we’ll have to wait and see if its implemented or not.
Battlefield 4 is due out on October 29th for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Next generation version on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have been confirmed for release whenever we finally get word on when these new consoles will launch.
