[Update] Blizzard Apparently Teasing Diablo 3 For Nintendo Switch

Either Blizzard has some hot new merch for Diablo fans or they’re bringing Diablo 3 to the Nintendo Switch.  At least that’s what thousands of fans on Twitter are thinking after a recent tweet from the publisher.

With the Nintendo Switch selling so well, there’s been a rush to bring last-gen and indie titles to the platform.  Blizzard bringing Diablo 3 to the Switch doesn’t sound horrible, eventhough the console versions of these games have been inferior to the PC release. (opinion/review)

But, for those that don’t have an extra potato lying around, the console version isn’t all that bad.  Blizzard has managed to dial-in the controls for Diablo 3 on consoles for the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, and PS3 versions of the game, and the additional bonus of being able to take it with you does sound enticing.

You can find the Tweet below where a Diablo night lite is switched on a handful of times with no other context other than the text portion of the tweet that reads: “Sweet Dreams.”    For now, you’ll just have to take the tweet at face value.   Blizzard HAS NOT officially confirmed that Diablo 3 is heading to Nintendo Switch.

Update: Upon contacting Blizzard, Polygon reports that the tweet was just for “community engagement”  “We can assure you we’re not that clever… We have nothing to announce.”
