The PS4 recently introduced Share Play with update 2.00. Unfortunately, it looks like a number of players cannot use this feature with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
When Sony announced Share Play for PS4, it would allow you to share your game for one hour with a friend. Even if your friend doesn’t own a copy of the game, they could play the game in one hour sessions. A cool feature since you can share games with others that live around the world.
The only limitation Sony noted is that some segments of games such as spoiler cutscenes and such will be blocked from Share Play. They didn’t note that some games may not even allow the feature altogether. It appears Activision has blocked the entire game of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare from Share Play.
A lot of Reddit users and those on Twitter have noted that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare doesn’t support the Share Play feature at all. When they try and share the game with a friend, the message reads it’s a “blocked scene”. People have noted it’s not just a scene, but the entire game is blocked. This includes single player, multiplayer, splitscreen and coop gameplay.
It’s unknown at this time if this is just an error in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare or if Activision doesn’t allow Share Play. If it’s just an error, hopefully a patch will fix it. If not, hopefully other video games don’t follow suit and block Share Play altogether.
