The Call of Duty: Elite service has seen its fair share of controversy since it was announced earlier in the year. Fans have been wondering how much this premium subscription to the Call of Duty stat-tracking and social hub for the game would cost. Today, Eric Hirshberg revealed that the Call of Duty: Elite service will cost $49.99 per year. Since the Call of Duty: Elite subscription comes with access to all of the DLC to the game, if Modern Warfare 3 follows the track record of Black Ops, gamers should save a little bit of money by purchasing the service.
With each COD map pack costing around $15, depending on how many content updates Modern Warfare 3 will contain, Elite might be a better deal than many have given it credit for. The service also features a slew of options that range from the impressive stat tracking features, to the social aspects that foster meeting like minded players.
Call of Duty: Elite is currently in beta, and will be available before November 8th, when Modern Warfare 3 is set for release.
