The Behemoth has announced that their popular side-scrolling action game Castle Crashers is coming to the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch this Summer. In addition, the version that will be released is the Remastered game that originally came out for the Xbox One in 2015.
In their blog post, The Behemoth’s Dan Paladin stated that the studio PlayEveryWare is assisting with the development, essentially creating two different versions of the Remastered port. The Switch version will use the HD Rumble, Switch Online, and also supports local multiplayer with the Joy-Cons. The PS4 version will display the characters color in the controllers lightbar.
Paladin also teased a brand new game in the works going by the codename “Game 5.” No other information was revealed in regards to Game 5, but Paladin did mention that they hope to have more news later this year. Castle Crashers first came out on the Xbox 360 in 2008, and was an immediate smash hit for The Behemoth, quickly becoming one of the most played multiplayer games on the console. The Remastered version features an increase in textures as well as all the DLC that came out for the original.
Castle Crashers Remastered launches for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch later this Summer. You can check out the reveal here:
