Child of Light Coming to Vita in July

Ubisoft UK has confirmed today that the stunning Child of Light will be coming to the PlayStation Vita in July. The game combines a watercolor painting art style with a relaxing fairy tale storyline and an action-heavy turn-based RPG style to craft a game you simply must play.

Anyone who loves really artsy games will love it, and if you’ve been a lapsed JRPG fan for a while, this will remind you of why so many turn-based RPGs were fun to play years ago. If you’ve fallen out of love with Ubisoft due to UPlay stuff, you’ll be glad to know it doesn’t hurt this game in the slightest and is just used to give you a second set of achievements to earn and get more stuff in the game. It’s exactly how you want that service to be integrated, and it’s far better-implemented here than it was in Trials Fusion only a month ago.

There’s no word on if this will be a cross-buy game with the PS3 and PS4, but it seems fairly logical to do that and help drive people to buying the Vita. The graphics should really pop on the original OLED screen, and will certainly impress people using the new LCD one as well.
