CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 will be a story based RPG experience. The developer has confirmed that it will be the same type of rich experience that has been delivered in The Witcher franchise, but they are looking to explore new avenues in the multiplayer arena.
Speaking in a recent interview, Adam Badowski OF CDPR explains that multiplayer features in Cyberpunk 2077 are still very much up in the air at this point. “It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single-player playthroughs, but we’re going to add multiplayer features,” the developer explains.
The lengthy interview sheds some light on the direction that Cyberpunk is heading, and that the game is still very much in the pre-production “idea” stage. “The first and most important environment for Cyberpunk is the city, obviously,” he said. “But not only the city: you can expect some more environments in the Cyberpunk game. We want to start in the Night City, which is cool. And yes it will be an open world game as well,” said the developer.
Cyberpunk 2077 will most certainly be a PC and next-gen title from CD Projekt, and likely to arrive after The Witcher 3.
