David Hayter has revealed in a new interview that he won’t do an entire voice mod for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is coming out for the PC, some fans were hopeful a voice mod would be released so that David Hayter voices Big Boss instead of Kiefer Sutherland. Hayter was interviewed by Fragged Nation, where he said he’s not interested in voicing in a mod. Even if someone does a Kickstarter for it, he’s accepted that Kiefer Sutherland is Big Boss in the new game.
Even though David Hayter is expected not to be in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, he said he would be happy to reprise his role as Solid Snake in an official capacity. He is open to work with Konami again if they are to make any more Metal Gear Solid games in the near future. That’s if they theoretically decide to make new games without Hideo Kojima.
David Hayter also said he’s not really sad or bitter that Konami replaced him with Kiefer Sutherland in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. He was actually honored it took someone that famous to replace him for the role of Big Boss.
The full interview with David Hayter was actually very interesting. He revealed how he got the role of Solid Snake in the first place back in 1998, and also talked about voicing the character for so many years.
