Dead Cells Coming to Mobile Devices

Last year, metroidvania Dead Cells was officially released for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Now, the critically acclaimed indie game is getting ready to jump to even more platforms, as mobile ports are currently in development.

In a recent press release, it was announced that Dead Cells developer Motion Twin is working with mobile game developer Playdigious to create mobile ports of their hit game. The game will be available for iPhones and iPads sometime this summer, with an Android version to eventually follow later. The mobile versions of the game will come with a number of features to make its action-oriented gameplay more manageable on touch screens. These mobile versions will come with their own interface and will allow players to customize the size and positions of the on-screen “buttons” to their liking. Additionally, the mobile versions will come with two different modes: original mode and auto-hit mode. So if the touch screen is just too slippery for you or if you can’t get the controls just right, you’ll be able to switch to auto-hit mode to make the game more playable for your play style. Additionally, the mobile versions of Dead Cells will include external controller support. The developers also want players to know that these mobile versions, once paid for, will not contain any ads or free-to-play elements.
